Questions, answered.

The short version of how Scute works. Want to see a match come together? Watch the flow.

Do I need Strava to use Scute?
No, but it helps. With Strava connected, we match you on your real pace and weekly volume. Without it, we start you with other newcomers until you build up some history.
What data can my match see?
Rounded figures like “~30 mi/wk” and “~9:00/mi.” They never see your raw activities, maps, exact paces, or timestamps.
How many matches do I get?
Right now, one a week.
Can I run with friends I already have?
Yes. That’s the other half of Scute. Invite people you already run with and set a shared challenge, like a weekly distance goal or a dare to run a favorite route. The point is getting out together.
How do the routes work?
When you match, we pick a meeting point about halfway between you and suggest three routes of different distance and terrain. You both see them in the chat and agree on one.
Which cities are you in?
We’re launching in Boston and San Francisco first, then expanding city by city. Your spot on the waitlist helps decide what opens next.
Is it free?
Yes. Scute is free.
What does the waitlist actually do?
It reserves your spot and tells us where demand is. When your city goes live, you’ll be among the first in. We won’t email you otherwise.
